Slack

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

I feel so slack today, or rather I have felt slack since the last day of promos. Anyway, did a few stupid things today, please congratulate me. Firstly, I returned to school planning to stay there for 10 minutes because my primary motive was to drop a copy of my O level results slip (which brings back all the nightmares) into Mr Choe's pigeon hole. What a meaningful trip eh? Next thing, was that while Yi Meng and I was crossing the bridge intending to take the bus straight home, who must come strolling across the bridge but Kang Hao. So ya we decided to waste away our time and followed Kang Hao all the way back to the school, meeting Zhi Qi and Jiu Rong along the way. Then Kang Hao suggested we go running, but in the end it was apparent that although we went through the normal route, (up the SIM and along the stretch of road from CHS to HC) only Yi Meng and I were running. I shall skip mentioning what happened to Kang Hao but well it is obvious enough.

Later, went out with Gav to watch "Before Sunset", (After Moonrise would be a great substitute... ) and for 1 hour and 20 mintues or so I watched two characters walking along stretches of road, past parks, in a cafe, all the while talking as they walked, with occasional four -letter words and third finger movements weaved into their conversation. But I think the actor and actress acted really naturally which was what the whole show was about. Just a normal, natural conversation between two people who have met each other on a train 9 years ago, had a one-night's stand and now being reunited for about 20 minutes before the guy, who happens to be at that place (Paris) to give a talk on his new book, needs to leave for the airport to fly back to New York. So the whole show revolves around small talks that each of us would have engaged in daily. But I think the show is overall a literary piece because as slowly the plot uncovers the true feelings bore deep down in the hearts of the two protagonists. And as the show continues they found out that the other had not been doing as well as they presumed. (Sounds suspiciously familiar? Yeah I thought it bears a resemblance to our most well-liked short story "Dong Ye".)

Anyway, enough of the film. I thought it was quite sad that only 2 out of the usual 5-man group came together. Well shall attribute that to PW, which is really the case anyway. Later, met up with Jiu Rong, Xf and Jas before going to meet the rest of A12 in Clarke Quay MRT. Yupz it was sort of like a mini class gathering and we went to Mu Chuan to support Jin Jing because she participated in this Singing competition. Thought the place was really quie nice, but the food was really expensive. The atmosphere was really great and the place is like a sanctury for chinese pop. So there goes my first official day of holidays.
