Click
Friday, August 18, 2006
Spent these few days of precious leave alone, quietly and peacefully. Sometimes, we all should learn to spend time with ourselves.
Watched "Click" today. If life can be controlled by a remote, would we relive those moments valuable to us, fast-forward those moments of triviality and self-perceived insignificance, and dive into the chapters we have been longing for immediately? The movie is touching and heart-warming, although it still plays on the old theme of work and family. But it has a specialised touch that sort of revitalises this issue that has been used over and over again. Apart from the introduction of the fictional presence of the remote control that can control the owner's universe, the delicately-handled scenes of transition as the protagonist literally browses through his life chapters, from the micro details such as the technological advances of the world to the emotional roller-coaster ride the protagonist was brought through, were also commendable.
The show concluded by stressing the importance of living every moment and cherishing things like family and ties. Quite a good wake-up call for the average white-collar man.
Now I don't even know if I will fast-forward my life till my ORD date. I might just miss out some things. Whether good or bad, at least I am still breathing, and I will make sure I see through the remaining 1 year 3 months.

Saturday, August 12, 2006

X just ended a call with his girlfriend and was slightly huffing as he told us about his girlfriend taking part in some speed-dating activity organised by her university.
"So what is speed-dating ah?"
"Er... just trying to know more people in quick time, perhaps?"
"Will they hold hands or something?"
"Well, I guess that depends on her, isn't it?"
"She says he is going out with this guy leh."
"Oh."
"(Jokingly) Ok I want his NRIC, rank and name..."
"..."
"Eh kokhong tomorrow go prepare armskote, I drawing arms at 7..."
"RIGHT."

Fallen?
Sunday, August 06, 2006

Came across Spiderman 3's trailer and it was absolutely cool. Can't wait for may 2007 (nearer to ORD too). But the theme for the movie is clearly about darkness within, since Venom has finally appeared.
"How long can any man live with the darkness before he finds it in himself?"
The trailer headings screamed.
Indeed. How long more?
