Singing in the Drain

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

I am singing my life away, literally. Going Kster twice in a few days. It's like the only thing keeping me connected to a more romanticised version of me, currently struggling to stay afloat in this sea of reality.

Grades do not tell. It's ironic. When you get an A, unless you get 97, (and even then there are people who feel they should have gotten 100) you will worry about whether it's a matter of luck or genuine hard work or just smart work. Yes don't for a second doubt this doesnt occur on you. Didn't these shadows cross your elated mind when you were staring at the top left hand corner of your exam scripts. (Yeah I know this is an assumption might be at the bottom the right hand corner or the centre) When you are drowning in the subject (yeah you are below the sea get it, credits to Dr Wilks) you will worry that you will probably reach the bottom OF the ocean.

Studying for Econs "Role of Govt" is really strenuous. It's like I am wearing a white T-shirt already.... I really hold our MM in highest respect... maybe I must try harder to think from government view. (I remembered when I was in p4 attended a community centre english class and some "want-to-act-scruffy-looking" kid was like mocking our then SM Lee and got scolded by teacher. That was my first political encounter.)

The PSLE maths question screwup was once again... an indicator that we shall forever consort to our past colonial master's education system. O levels. A levels. True train so what? In the end you still need to stare at your entry proof with that brandname marked at the top. See they are never really gone. Wait maybe "they" purposely made this hiccup to tell you people who are constantly proposing for change of education system that: Hey we can't really set a zero-error paper, so we need to outsource. Really... I think I am becoming a raving lunatic nowadays.
