Piece of the jigsaw
Friday, May 25, 2007
Another long break lays ahead of me. But now that the floodgates of freedom come crashing down again, the amount of free time gets overwhelming again. How wicked... I guess I shouldn't be complaining, because although I certainly did not plan to break at this time, some things in life's schedule comes offhanded.
To kill time, I have dug out the remains of the jigsaw puzzle I brought back from Taiwan a whole two years back and which has been shut away in the deep confines of my closet since then, never allowed to see the light of day until now. But it had been kept well, wrapped and all, as though bought clean off the shelves. Thanks to Mum's flair in keeping stuff.
So I have only begun the painful phase of sorting out the pieces into groups according to how I break down the picture of the puzzle. Being an amateur, I must say it's a slow process. But then again, this is about training patience, killing time and mainly to end my extremely long procrastination with regards to completing something I should have two years back. By giving the excuse of having no time, it became an easy way out, one that effectively lessens the guilt and tranquilises the drive to get things done.
But through the process of puzzle-fixing, I got to really admire the design and the picture, deep down to the finest details. The eyebrows. The different facial expressions. The body posture. The colour and effects. Isn't it the same as what we get in life? We walk past so many different sceneries each day without even knowing how much we miss. It is only until we stop to make out those sights of life when we discover the richness and surprises within. Without knowing it, you and I make up those small pieces of jigsaw in those pictures. We only need to look closer to find out where we fit in, before we enjoying the beauty of this complete picture.
Which is the piece of jigsaw you are holding today then?
By the way, if you are are guessing what design my puzzle has, well guess no more... Haha.
