What is the Meaning Of..
Friday, January 25, 2008
There are times when we ask ourselves "why we are doing something" (especially when that something is physically and mentally draining to the point you start questioning it's importance)
I guess this happened to me most in the past two years of my life, especially when I am doing something that I am just told to do, without seeing the need to do it or the results of finishing it. (which often means doing another thing..) The interesting thing is I see two differing perspectives in the way we view this kind of work, normally entailing grunt work. The first one is the "try-to-get-to-the-bottom-of-things" mentality, and the other, the "since it has to be done, why not just get it done quickly and disappear from sight" mentality. The former tries to find meaning, the latter, probably just the next step.
Anyway, today our Relief T council actually came together for some after school activity and guess what, we actually played... Captain's Ball... Right I must admit it's been quite some time since I last touched this game, but I am sure the a12 people will fondly remember the many sessions (in fact it is almost every session) of PE where we played this, that is, when we are not skipping PE in the first place.. And we probably look weird to be engaging in this kind of self-entertaining sport to the students who caught us playing.. And for that fraction of a second the question of "what are we doing" flashes across my mind, but that was quickly dismissed. Why bother...
有些东西没有什么好追问的,因为没必要,也因为那样很无聊。这应该就是所谓的不求甚解吧。
