Thanksgiving

Every year during this day I ask myself what I was doing this same time one year ago and if there isn't too much content for a reasonable amount of reminiscence, or if I have not gotten tired of this pensive mood, I will go back yet another year.

As a kid I only have residual recollections of how my past birthdays were spent but even during that point in time, I thought this day was just like any other really. A day only made significant because others apart from myself remember it.

So now this date serves as a form of remembrance that there are people who care and have all in some ways or other contributed to the life I am leading now. And hence this day becomes a self-proclaimed thanksgiving day to all those who collided, waltzed or simply walked into my life and continue to be aware of my existence. For 2009:

一通越洋电话，但得向打电话的人说声抱歉，因为刚好那时地点在一个人声嘈杂的网咖，所以十分干扰。但依然很感谢。下次回来再聚。

另外就是午夜时分听到的第一首祝福我的生日歌。有心了你！

All the fb greetings I receive this year made me realise that there are well wishes dispersed and scattered in different corners of the world. I cherish the sms-es I received all the more, probably because I have the habit of keeping these birthday greetings for the next coming year. These greetings become a source of motivation during tough times. At least that's how I see it.

如果你问我二十二过后，有什么不同？目前来说，可能唱陶喆的《二十二》时会多些认同感吧。

And to my sister who is still on exchange, thanks for this gift and take care over there.
